Mangrove Cay, Andros Island
Andros Island is the largest island in the Bahamas, made up of smaller islands called cays (pronounced ‘keys’). If you’re the adventurous type, Mangrove Cay is just waiting to be explored. Located right on the beach, our Reefside Restaurant & Bar serves up delicious and truly authentic Bahamian cuisine. Open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks or dinner, our fresh, home-cooked food is always popular.
Private dining can be arranged in your room or in our beachfront pavillion. Our restaurant is open to non-hotel residents for lunch and dinner. Please book in advance by calling (242) 369-0296.
Activities
Even if you’re not into fishing, there are plenty of activities to enjoy while you’re here. Kayak along the bights and spot the creatures of the air and sea. Snorkel the tropical underwater landscape. Admire the flora and fauna during a bike ride around Mangrove Cay. Or simply watch the world go by from a beach lounger while a warm breeze gently melts your stresses away.

Bike Rides
Grab one of our complimentary bikes and head off to explore the island. Only 7 miles long with very little traffic and totally flat, Mangrove Cay is the perfect place for riding bikes.
Eco-Tourism
Mangrove Cay is a haven for wildlife and birds, in particular. See ospreys, sea eagles and flamingos all in their natural habitat. Other wildlife is never far away, like dolphins herding fish on the flats or sharks cruising the waters.

Great, laid-back place on Andros
Stayed here with my parents for a week in February. The location is great– we alternated fishing out of Middle Bight and South Bight all week depending on the winds and the guide availability. All guides were very skilled and hard-working and the staff at Swain’s was extremely friendly. The beach itself was beautiful along with the flat and island right off the lodge. It is a laid-back place with a very pleasant vibe. I highly recommend it!

Wonderful host in a piece of paradise
We visited as a group as part of a business trip. Cheryl was the best host ever and we had the best Bahamian breakfast we could think of. The views are amazing and the place is just awe inspiring beauty all over. We all wanted to come back and enjoy the uniqueness and tranquility

Great spot to chase bonefish from. Room was spotless, bed comfortable and grounds are well maintained. The Chef did a great job every meal and the lunches were perfect

My Experience to swains cay lodge was awesome, Mrs. Bastian and staff gave great hospitality and the food was awesome. I encourage our Bahamian people to go and see for yourself you won’t regret it at all. The rooms was exceptional and everywhere very clean my husband and I will be returning once you go once you will want to always go back. Also they offer a lifetime of experience with bone fishing.

Could not have been better. Cheryl and her staff couldnt have done more for us- very friendly. Even after a 4 night stay they seemed life long friends. Food excellent. Rooms generous size with AC. Beautiful beach.
